Just remember the outcome of the speech does not matter a wit, and you have it in the bag anyway.

Keeping your heart rate down is basically impossible, but staying calm is a whole different field. Try these suggestions:
1. Listen to your kind of music, if you are comfortable, you will learn to accept what's going on and not notice you heart.
2. If you want an easy fix, don't look at the people you're talking to talk to the back wall or exit sign, this way you won't realize that there are many people in your class.
3. Have some friends sit in the front row and talk mainly to them as if you were practicing. Your heart might get the point and not "race" as much.
Remember: the only difference from practice and the real deal, your grade.

A speech is an intimidating event. The act is very unnatural and no one is completely free of a natural nervous response. I would not medicate in any way before you give a presentation. There are a number of things you can try, however with good preparation and forced pauses you should be fine.
1. Do push ups and short sprints to get your heart going and get some natural drugs from your brain into your system. If possible workout before.
2. Take a bottle of water with you. Force yourself to drink(put it to your lips) when you feel overwhelmed.
3. Get a feel of the presenters area and practice your speech with a loud "real" voice.
4. Smile. Smile when you get on stage and look around the room. When someone responds with a smile, focus on them till you feel calm in your speech. Some people are better audience members becuase they have good eye contact and their faces are friendly and easy to read.
Good luck.

Before presentation just do a pre mental preparation. Think that your presentation is the best and you are not going to bother about the people comments and openions. During the presentation, instead of concentrating the reactions of the audiance, just concentrate on your tone and the way of presentation.

Take deep breaths; breathe in through your mouth, hold it for a couple of seconds and then breathe out through pursed lips.
However, I cannot disagree with the very first answer - a little bit of alcohol can definitely help you relax. Try a glass of wine or something because it will calm you.

This may sound completely bizarre to you, and I'm not being a smart-***, but I drink a cooler or beer before a big presentation, and honestly...it works for me. I just pour it into my coffee mug and away I go. I just make sure no one gets too close to me or they might smell it.
I swear, I'm not an alcoholic.
