The recall only referred to the pouch or can food. Not dry food.

I became concerned when the wet food recal occurred. No problem, threw out all wet food, even though it didn;t match the serial numbers. I would just do dry food. Then the other day came the dry food recall. Who knows how far this will go. I threw out all treats and snacks, in addition to the dry food. I made my own. It is pretty easy and not too expensive. In fact an old country vet used to have us feed this to any pet who was sick. I adapted it for cat food.. Additionally, I am trying to come up with an equivallient for dry food that is homemade. Dogs: Equal amounts of ground beef( beef, chicken, sauteed in water and drained) and brown rice, both cooked. Add in EVOO. For cats : Equal amounts of Tuna and brown rice w/ EVOO/ Squish into canned type food. Need to look into adding veggies. Thinking about Baby Food.

OLD ROY is about the cheapest garbage out their for a beloved pet! Purina has a fancier name but is not better, and in fact, *may* have been part of the recall...

I have been MAKING my dogs their dinner since the recall. I am waiting to see what the fall out is and even then I may continue to make their dinner -it's not difficult. Google it!

Suggestion? Maybe you would consider adopting a dog who needs a forever home? You sound like a good person and there are sooooooooooooo many wonderful dogs out there. I have three and would not trade them for ANY amount of money.

Well if he is feeding dry foods, at this point they haven't been recalled and are supposedly safe. None are on the recall list.
He is however feeding the dog crappy food, so you should try to contact him and educate him on quality dogfoods and what he should and shouldn't be feeding.
Ol Roy is like the bottom of the barrel, Kibbles N Bits is junk food and Purina.. They have their own problems..

Iams, Eukanuba, Hills, Science Diet, Pro-Plan, and Purina are NOT preservative free, ALL contain ethoxyquin. (Ethoxy was developed by Monsanto as a rubber hardener and insecticide). It is believed to cause liver and kidney dis-ease, cancer, immune dis-ease, skin problems, birth deformities, and thyroid problems. And be aware of food containing BHA and BHT avoid at all costs.

I am pretty sure he is ok. As far as I know it's only in the pouch dog food. I didn't see anywhere on the list for the dry dog food.
