i have a 10" cerwin vega stroker that is 4000 watts max at 2 ohms with dual voice coils. theres 2 mono amps that i have narrowed it down to but im not sure which one will be best.
the first one is an EARTHQUAKE PHD5000W and heres the specs:
5000 Watts x 1 Peak Power
3000 Watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohm
Damping Factor >800
THD: > 0.016
180-degree variable phase shift
Digital Class Circuitry
Variable Low Pass Filter: 20hz - 200kHz
Built-in variable 24dB/oct low pass-filter
Two independent low level RCA inputs
4-gauge power connection
8-gauge speaker connection

the second is a PYLE PLAD3300D and the specs:
1x1800W RMS at 2 Ohms
1x3600W MAX at 1.3 Ohms
1 Ohm Stereo Stable
MOSFET Power Supply
PWM (Pulse-Width-Modulated) System
Variable Low pass Filter (50Hz~150Hz,24dB/Octave)
Variable Subsonic Filter (15Hz~40Hz,24dB/Octave)
Input Impedance:10K Ohms
THD: <0.1%.
S/N Ratio: >90dB
Input Sensitivity : 200mV ~8V
Freq. Response : 15Hz ~ 150KHz

which is better?

i cant honestly believe your even considering a brand like Pyle. Earthquake is nothing to ride home about, but its a hell of a lot better then Pyle

good luck

ehhh... this is choosing the lesser of two evils. Neither of those amps are going to put out a fraction of what they are rated at... but if you must choose between those two I would go with the earthquake (although I've never heard of it).

If you're looking for good budget amplifiers, try a Hifonics Brutus 1605D or the Power Acoustik A3000DB.

EDIT
Ignore what I just said. Did some research - looks like the Earthquake is a solid amplifier. They just don't seem to be very popular anymore. Certainly not top of the line but will at least put out its rated power. Definitely go with that one over the Pyle - its worthless.

If you never hear of earthquake get out of this board LOL

1 EARTHQUAKE PHD5000W
2 EARTHQUAKE PHD5000W
3 EARTHQUAKE PHD5000W
4 EARTHQUAKE PHD5000W
5 EARTHQUAKE PHD5000W

last amplifier from the list pyle
If i have a cerwin vega stroker i will buy the phd5000

if i get a pyle as a gift i will take my woofer to the other end of the house and keep it safe and far from the pyle amplifier until i have the money for a dencent amplifier

If both voice coils are two ohms I don't know how you're going to hook it up to only one of those earthquake amps. You would have connect them in series for 4 ohms and only half the power.

The pyle is junk.

at the start, those subs are purely 1000W RMS, so which you dont want 2000W amps. Secondly, you purely want one million Amp. look for a 1000W amp with extreme high quality, thats lots of of power for the two a variety of subs.

the pyle is better according to its impedance load spec if u wire ur sub parallel to 1 ohm, but yeah, i agree, save your money and buy a better amp (buy it once, buy it right)

your first amp clearly has more power, but the second puts out clearer sound, based on THD.
