I colored with Lush Caca Rouge about 6 months ago and want to use a chemical dye of a similar shade this time around (tired of the mess and trouble involved in using mud henna). My hair is long, so about half of it is grown-out natural (virgin) and the bottom half is still reddish from the old henna. Is it safe yet to use a chemical dye on it? I'm wanting to use Clairol Natural Instincts---yes, it says not to use on henna-treated hair, but it doesn't say how long you have to wait until it's safe. Any advice?

Update, 3/8: I just called a rep at Lush and posed my question to her...she said since Lush hennas are completely natural and have no metallic salts and generally will be mostly washed out of your hair within a couple of months, it's safe to go ahead and use a chemical dye over it, but of course to do a strand test first to see how the color's going to turn out. Since it's been around 6 months for me she said I should be fine. I'll do the strand test and report back here to let you know how it goes. Thanks for the responses!
