I truly and honestly was lost...and had no idea where I was going; it was my first time driving in this particular city by myself. The woman gave me some kind of slip, and one of my friends said I could pay it online, but I went to the website and found out this is not the case. So now the 7 day limit has passed, and I think the price I have to pay has gone up from $1 to $15... I'm just wondering what will happen if I don't pay at all? Not that i'm planning too...i'm just too paranoid, plus, I don't want to get in trouble. Can you really get arrested for that?

In some states you can have your license suspended for a non-payment of a fine. If this happens and you are stopped for any other infraction and they find that you are driving under a suspended license, you will most likely be arrested. Many states are becoming less and less lenient with situations such as yours so pay the fine and be done with it. If you want specifics, just call the state police or your local dept. of motor vehicles and ask.

Specifically, just what were you ticketed for? Whatever the violation was all about, just go ahead and pay it and be done with it. They've just started something in the city where I'm living called "booting" the cars of drivers who conveniently "forget" to pay their parking tickets.

I don't think you will get arrested. The worst case scenario would be that they would mail a fine to the registered owner of the car. That is assuming that they recorded your license plate number.

They can't arrest you for it but if it was in the same state that your drivers license was issued, they can suspend your license.
