Great, if you don't want war you're a coward now? I doubt you've ever been shot at.
Anyway, I bet the Roman's thought they'd never be destroyed either.
We are in power for 230 years and now we are invincible? Wow, I think some people forgot the depression of the 1930's. We were lucky nobody attacked us then.
I doubt we'll go into Iran, I do think well be in a deep recession at some point and then all the war hawks will once again be brought down to reality in their single wides.
Yee haw, lets rule the world. lol you guys kill me.

Your question is troubling but your additional comments
shed more light on your thinking. No, such a war will not
trigger the end of western civilization. But I agree with
the financial impact the current war is having, the lack
of foreign policy and insufficient numbers to wage war
on three fronts.
All this and more is what has been being screamed at the
administration for the past 12 months yet they refuse to
listen. Right, our government has put us in this position
and wants to use executive privilege to keep us in this
position.
The US is not the only nation Iran is a threat to. The key
is convincing foreign powers of this. The key is also convincing foreign powers that we are not going to be
able to handle the brunt of the battle should it come to that.
The heat needs to be turned up on George Bush and friends
so that he will know that just because he is going down, he
does not have to drag the US down with him. By, his blatant
refusal to be accountable to Congress and the American
people, he is dangerously close to totally violating the oath
of office he took.

Not if the American public will use it's collective power and give notice to all public officials that in a representative government they are supposed to have our best interests at heart. War with Iran is not in any way in our best interest. We must accept that for as long as we were shielded from international terrorism here, those days are over. Appearances are that Ahmadinejad is a mirror image of King George W. He's considered a pile of dung in his country so he wants to create a little havoc to avert the Iranians attention from the discord in their own nation. The Iranian public thinks that the U.S.A. wants to destroy them. The majority of us are falling for the fight talk like children on a playground and Bush is happy to play the part of Roy Rogers. You know, the white hat and big guns. Or maybe it is Armageddon! No, not the end of the U.S.A. but a decline in world influence and power even as to the point of a Spain, Portugal, France, etc. Remember that at one point in history each of these was the mightiest nation on earth. Where they are now we too can be.

In WWII, the government put us in the position where we defeated enemies which without a doubt would have caused us great harm, lucky for us, we battled them in their own corner of the world.
A war will happen someday involving an Islamic superpower. When a nation's doctrine involve the inialation of western society, we have to take that as a serious threat. We cannot afford to allow US civilian lives be lost before we react. We need to have the fight on their own soil, far away from the reach of US civilians. If we wait for them to strike first, it just might be too late.

It probably won't get to the point of war with Iran. They will release the troops soon. However, if they decide not to, and we do go to war, it will not be just us, so it will not require as many troops. The U.S. is the greatest superpower; that war will not end it.

I believe that the US can only be destroyed from the inside out. If Americans abandon what makes the US unique, America will surely be over.

If U.S. doesn't hold back, war with Iran will give them what the leaders want - to go back to the middle ages.
