Having the urge to eat foreign objects like chalk, dirt, sand, or dust may show a sign of a severe mineral deficiency. I suggest you see a doctor or nutritionist to discuss about it. It could also be a psychiatric illness called pica. You can seek help for pica from a psycietrist or an eating disorder clinic. In the mean time you can take a few Tums to satisfy your chalk craving because Tums have the same ingredient that chalk is made of but don't eat strait chalk as it may contain traces of heavy metals such as lead. (Calcium Carbonate is what chalk is made out of. Make sure that is listed in the ingrediants for the Tums before eating them)

You might have the condition pica. Common cravings in people with pica include the urge to eat soil, coal, rust, chalk and paper (in the 16th century it was given its name from the Latin for "magpie" due to the sufferer's often indiscriminate eating) I'd suggest you look it up.

well, find some that's none-toxic and eat a stick, then come back and tell us. Personally I have never had a fondness for chewing chalk, something about liking stuff with nutrients in it. *shrugs* sorry.
