Where do people usually mount their light when they have aerobars installed?

I have mine mounted upside down on one of the bars but it feels and looks awkward

so it feels and looks awkward, but is that really a problem?

I'd be asking:
- is it bright enough / does the beam pattern illuminate the road well?
- is it secure / stable so it won't fall off on the second bump I hit
- is it where cars can see it?

And I second the "light on helmet" idea, I've done it and it works. I use the Cateye EL300, works great on "blinky" mode. I can point it directly at a driver's eyes to get their attention. I also have a second bar-mounted light for the road.

i had a similar situation awhile back. i had a really nice lighting system on my mountain bike, and instead of buying a whole new set of lights i was just going to use them... but no matter where i mounted them, they kept getting in the way... i had to have changed the position 5 times... anyways .. i ended up buying two "chronometro computer nobs". They are designed to keep a computer out of the way on aero bars, but they worked great for lights. you can change the position of the mounts, so that they can hang down under the bars and out of the way..
they make two sizes, of nobs.. a standard and xl. The xl will work if your lights are size specific (31.8).. they are about $10 a peice at http://www.coloradocyclist.com

You can do what my dorky boyfriend and his cycling buddies do and wear an LED light on your helmet. Looks completely stupid but does the trick!

Also the thing mentioned above sounds like a really good idea!

Good luck!
