This is a scam, it is a Nigerian scam and they will sting you if you take it for real. Go to, Urban Legends and you will see for yourself

It is scam. Yahoo (insert any company name here, this answer works for all!) do not run an email lottery, if they did you could guarantee it would be advertised all over their home page. Check out these links and search answers to see how many people 'win' the exact same lottery every day

Do not click on any links, the page you will be taken to will look authentic but is not
Do not send them a 'courier fee' or any other money
Do not hand over any bank details or passwords

Do report spam
Do delete

Remember there is no such thing as a free lunch. You cannot win a lottery if you havenot bought a ticket.

(I've answered this question so many times that I now keep this answer on my desktop and just copy and paste....that should give you a clue!)

They'll either:
a) Ask for your bank details so they can deposit the winnings into your account, but clean it out instead, or
b) Ask you to send a fee to release the funds - you'll never see that money again, nor any winning.

Remember the old adage - if it seems to good to be true, then it probably is.
Do you recall buying a lottery ticket, or entering this lottery? No? Then you haven't won a bean.

This is a scam. They will try to either get an advance fee from you (you have tons of money waiting here, we just need a $1,000 release fee!) or they'll try to get tons of personal information from you and steal your identity.

No company exists to hand out money to random people. You can't win a lottery you didn't enter.

Avoid.
