Love is a sham! It's caused by the release of dopameine, among other chemicals, into the blood-stream! These chemicals can give you the same feeling as a couple of lines of cocaine, except the feeling lasts longer! Eventually, you get tired of them and your brain stops releasing the chemicals when you are around that person! Your brain will release the chemicals again if you move onto someone else because it wants to reward you for spreading your seed! It's our instinct!

Well, if you want to be clinical about it, then ok. I think you've become jaded. If you see a similarity between a line of cocaine and love, then you've probably never really experienced the feeling. Love is not destructive. Cocaine is. Love makes you want to share and be with someone else. Cocaine takes a hold over your body and psyche. It becomes your lover and friend, but it's really your enemy. Love makes you want to share. Love is the wellspring of life. Cocaine is an agent of destruction. I wish you love.

What an emtpy, hopeless life you must lead. To be a slave to your hard-wired chemical reactions. No reason to aspire to anything more than a clinical explanation for every human emotion.
How do you explain those who's receptors never "wear out?" Those who sacrifice their own lives for a lover, even when that means any chance of "seeding" is going to be lost? Those who truly care more for their beloved than for themselves?
Must be brain-damaged, because someone operating on the "purely biological level" would choose survival over sacrifice every time, wouldn't they?
(Maybe that's why Socrates referred to "love" as a mental illness....)

Two people can be in love with one another their entire lives and never have the desire to "spread their seed." A human is capable of strong, deep emotion, which surpasses any biological aspect of the human body. I would take true love over sex any day of the week.
