I mean, come on, we will just build tunnels under it and if it comes down to it, we'll blow a hole in it and come in yelling "Libertad" and "Muerte al imperialismo!!!"

And anyway, it's not going to get built, the U.S. has too much money invested in the drug industry.

You are right it would have a huge psychological impact....of more hatred towards the U.S. Of the want to destroy the wall.

I changed my mind, build your wall. Maybe that might be the thing that finally pisses mexicans off enough to kill the american imperialist companies, kill the corrupt government, and kill the cartels. Then we would rebuild our country to be even better than the U.S. By the way, I don't hate the U.S., the U.S. hates me.

Couldn't hurt. Then we can just set out to find all your tunnels. I'd personally be willing to push the lever on the dynamite to cave the holes in. And I'd also be happy to place land mines at each exit. As a profit venture, I'd set up some luxury skyboxes to watch y'all try and come out. And maybe a Boder Patrol rifle range, for new agent recruits to practice their sniping skills.

No it won't work or even help. There are other ways around the wall and it won't even slow anyone down. Canada does not require a visa from anyone from Mexico, Central or South America so all they have to do is get on a plane and fly to Canada and then come across the northern border. Also, boats...does a wall stop Cubans or Haitians?

No it will not help building a wall, but I do believe that the Goverment needs to wake up and send all us National Guardsmen down to the border to back up the Border Patrol and shoot the hell out of the ones that cross illegal. Or We could go down there and just take Mexico over and make it apart of the US.

No, I don't think building a wall will help. They are just wasting money and time.

do americans really think this is a way to get respect?
did this **** work for the nazis? no.

What did your granddads fight over? The right to build walls over an area and to kill anybody who crosses their invisible lines on a dusty map? Or the right to live a peaceful life and hopefully a job you can support yourself on.

Are immigrants taking those away from you? I dont see it. Or are you blaming your OWN unemployment, lack of desire to work, and self centered laziness on invisible people you dont know or see? I don't see too many white guys lining up to do the work for the wages that are on offer- but it is better to some people who are less fortunate. Guess what- free markets= you get ******. Controlled markets= you still get ******. Smart people will always find a way to manipulate it for their benefit at the cost of the rest of us. Life isnt fair and wasting time blaming other people who do what you are not willing to do solves nothing.

Try doing your best to be self-sufficient, make your own damn shoes, grow your own damn food, and avoid supporting the economy as we know it if you care so much. Building a great stinking wall serves no purpose. You can do this and enjoy the fruits of an african style economy!

What madness has possessed people. Obviously your system doesn't work for you, and now you waste your breath whinging about it. Suggesting that gunning people down and land mines in your own country= bully who needs a cage. Mao tried that ****, Stalin tried that ****, Hitler tried it, and you dont need to be like that. Obviously it DOES NOT WORK.

Go live in the woods, or get a flippin' night shift job and try and find something positive in your life instead of worrying about invisible forces you cant control and probably shouldnt bother trying to.

Not sure if it would help or not. Dont think so, as someone else pointed out, there will ALWAYS be someone willing to do the job you dont want to because you think its not worthy.

But I dont understand why they would want to make a hole in the wall (if ever there is one) and yell "Death to the Imperialist"?? If you dont like that place and if you hate it that much then why do you even bother to go there?

There is some sort of inconsistency in the thought here.

Do you think the corporate pimps in Washington really want to stop illegal immigration? They talk about it and do nothing, meanwhile thousands of Mexicans are illegally coming to this country as well as others such as Koreans and Chinese each and every day. Some come and have babies so that their child become a citizens, I have heard the term "anchor babies" used in this case. I don't blame anyone for coming to this nation in order to create a better life for themselves, but what I don't agree with is the double standards, and the way legal immigrants are treated. The bottom line is that our country can not sustain a continuous influx of unskilled labor.

People trying to get into this country legally often have technical skills to offer. Many are not able to get into this nation because of the harsh immigration laws. If you are one of the unlucky ones who happen to come from a nation such as Iraq, Syria, Egypt.....you can bet your are unlikely to get in. These people are usually doctors and scientist, and businessmen. Mexicans are unskilled workers get in because they serve the needs of corporate America. Often times these people are treated like modern day slaves, and know that they will be ratted out if they complain.

What is amazing to me is that people believe really believe the government wants to close the borders. Have you heard of the North American Free American Trade Agreement?

Here is food for thought. Two border patrols were jailed for stopping a Mexican drug trafficker. The border patrol men were treated like criminals and were demonized and the drug dealer got off free.

Building walls will be too expensive, besides, we have the technology to get the job done, but we prefer using it on Americans instead of the borders.

No, I think it would be a huge waste of funds. Why not shure up the walls around New Orleans with the money. But I do think an immigration system in which those who legitmately want in can in a timely manner. Why not issue a temporary card or work visa with the understanding the person has to check in with a local immigration office weekly in the town there asking to locate to. Now if the person does not make their weekly visit,or commit a crime, they will be subject to deportation. Of course upon entering the country a more slimmed down background check is done similar to the airport database system. The burocracy that is currently being used is not working and costing a fortune. Let people come in and work, support industry,go to school, pay taxes, however be accountable to their local immigration case managers office until a more permanent residence status can be established.

Yes I most certainly do. And it makes more sense than the usual 'Goddidit' excuse. Watch the programme documentary about the birth of the earth and how it developed the means of supporting life. It's called Catastrophe. I think youtube have it.

It might keep a few people out, but for the most part it would be a HUGE waste of our tax dollars that could be better used to fight the REAL terrorists AND fight this supposed "crisis" the RIGHT way, by targeting and punishing the EMPLOYERS of illegal immigrants.

And ironically I am 100% CERTAIN illegal immigrants will help build it, which speaks volumes right there.

THANK YOU, matt_of_asia!!!! FINALLY somebody here on Y!A who THINKS about this whole thing and doesn't just follow the "blame everything on the illegals" mob mentality!!!!!!!
