Gheese, if I read one more question asking why JW's do this and that I'm going to scream. I'm starting to think JWs are asking these questions themselves, and then answering them to draw attention to themselves. I wouldn't put it past them.
Any Christian who has an understanding of scripture knows their religion is full of distortions and errors. That's why they spend 99.9% of their time on here, and everywhere else debating their beliefs. Jesus never debated with anyone, he laid truth on the table, and you either took it or you didn't.
I'm more interested in why true Christians are even concerned with what JW's think? Put them in the category of false prophets, heretics, and atheists, give it up to God, and call it a day. They do what they do to get all this attention so they can later scream "we're persecuted", "we're the true religion" yadda, yadda, yadda. We've heard it before.
So my question is why ask them anything, if they don't speak for God, or teach truth?

There is nothing I need to ask a JW, because I already know of their false doctrines, and there is nothing they can say of interest to me.

P.S. This refers to Christians who already know what they believe but ask them to elaborate anyway? For instance, we know they do not believe Jesus is God, and believe he is the created Archangel Michael. Why ask them why? Leave these people to God.

Jason that's not true. The bible tells us, after we have tried to preach the truth, and explain why their doctrine is in error, if they do not accept it, we are to shake the dust from our feet and move on, not continue debating and questioning them. Thank God, the Lord was wise enought to give that instruction.

Mei, those are two things we must do: Love them, and pray for them. Those are the ONLY obligations we have, after we've tried to share God's word, and correct the error in their teachings. In fact, it is disobedient according to scripture, to continue pushing the Word of God upon people who will not accept it. In many ways, true christians, enable JWs to remain in their false religion by argueing with them, because that makes them cling even tighter to the doctrine just to make a point. Let those people be after you've spoken truth.

Vro that's true, but the Lord never begged anyone to believe, nor did he speak unusually persuasave or in an overly tolerent manner. He stated the truth firmly with love, and left it. The individual had to make the decision to follow that truth or reject it. God made Zechariah mute for questioning him. He didn't want to hear it. Loving one another, and preaching does not mean begging or compromising truth. Follow the example of Jesus. He would never have wasted time questioning people who denied his Divinity. When you push the Word, you are over stepping boundaries, and possibly prolonging the time a JW or others following false doctrine might need to convert. Without your questions, they could only ask questions themselves and respond to them. Many of the JWs on here look forward to, and expect questions which challenge their doctrine, so they will have an excuse to respond. They need your questions!! Why help them to become more deeply rooted in false doctrine?

This is not about doctrine, although of course, to many Christians that's all it's about. It's much more than that.
These people are victimized by a self-perpetuating system that has gone along so far for so long that it has a life of its own. The issue is not whether there are bad guys at the top but that there is a structure that holds them captive.
The question "where will we go away to" distracts them from realizing that the first "place" they need to get to OUT OF THERE!
The religion provides a free -- and tax-free -- distribution method for the print products of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society and its various corporate entities around the world.
Is it a recognized religion? Yes. Does it have doctrines many of which are exactly the same as mainstream Christianity? Yes.
What makes them worthy of focus? They ARE CULT VICTIMS. They are not capable of independent thought without prodding. I WAS ONE OF THEM. It took a real jolt to wake me up to where I was.
If you want to argue doctrine with them for the sake of arguing doctrine, they will ping-ping away with you for as long as you can stand it. After all, if they are "witnessing" to you, even online, they are counting that as time in their minstry. So even though their leadership warns them against mingling with "apostates" online, they are taking the chance, because they can do this in their pajamas. No slamming doors.
These people are as good as you are. Or as bad. They are just like you. But they are trapped in a structure they've been led to believe is God's will.
If you're bored by this, don't play. But have pity on the witnesses.

Dear Kichimu,
I definitely agree with you on the screaming! But I've got to say I'm really enJOYing the wonderful answers that I've been seeing to very contrived questions. The answers given by people like View from a Horse, Sasi, Princess Yum Yum, Anna, Laylallu, Claret and many many more show me over and over how great God is!
Since my mom became a Watchtower Witness before I was born I've had a sense that there was something very wrong with what they teach but it wasn't until many years later when I read the Bible from cover-to-cover and realized that they are the modern day Pharisees.
I am thankful to the people of the organization of False Prophets in a negative way. The more nonsense they say the more I read the Bible and the more I study the Truth, the more I see their nonsense ... etc.
Do you have any jws in your family? I do and because I love them it breaks my heart to see the nonsense they believe. I know that my heavenly Father does not want a single person to be eternally separated from Him and therefore I do not want a single person to be separated from Him.
I know it won't be my words that cause them to leave the organization but I know that many have seen the falsehood and have been inspired to leave. One of my cousin's left about 5 years ago. She & I had debated off and on for years but she didn't leave based on what I said at the time. I merely planted some seeds and in God's time they sprouted for His glory.
It isn't worthwhile to ask them anything. They do NOT speak for God nor do they teach Truth. That is why those who do realize that must speak and teach.

People challenge what they don't understand or think cannot be possible, such as a dedication to preach the word. Every religions, including the Muslims, have tried and failed to match the witnesses. They also can't match them on moral grounds, or anything else. For being accused as a false religion, they are the most Christ like. As for supposed highly educated individuals proving them wrong, so did one other highly educated individuals, as regards the first Christians, Saul of Tarsus. His education only led him away from the truth. He had to be blinded to find the light.

I look at it this way....I'm a Christan...I believe we will stand before our Lord on judgment day. I'll will stand before him to be judged by HIM for the choices I made in my life and the paths I may have taken. So I pray for myself and others, because I believe its the right thing to do.Which way your paths takes you and others, and the choices you make are your own. If I disagree on someones choices or paths they choose. Then all i can do is wittness and pray for them. And I expect the same respect, from them also. Pray for me too.

Maybe your understanding of the scripture is distorted but mines not. Please speak for yourself.
I don't care what the Jehovah Witnesses say either.
Jesus is the way the truth and the life. Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Actually, I talk with with. well I do more than that, I preach the gospel to them. See the thing is, as christians that is what we are supposed to do. And when someone who isn't saved knocks on your door, and is willing to talk about spiritual things, well now that is the best time to witness to them, now isn't it?
furthermore, if we just let them go, well their blood is on our hands, if they die without Christ, cuz we would have had a chance to tell them, but didn't.

Firstly, if you are going to ask a question, PLEASE keep it short and free of slander.
Sencondly I too am quite annoyed by the more rediculous queries like "Why do Kingdom Halls NEVER have Windows".
Third, there are a few on here, who at times have claimed to be , Witnesses, who have posted questions about our beliefs. However the majority of the questions about Witnesses are not asked by Witnesses.
