We have three kinds of teeth.
Molars are those flat surfaced teeth near the back of your mouth. They are for chewing and grinding vegetable, seeds and nuts. You also have 4 canine teeth -- two pointy teeth on top and two on the bottom jaw. Canine are for puncturing and tearing meat. They are not as pointy or long as those on dogs or cats, so it suggests we were not designed to kill with those teeth or rely on meat as our main source of food. It hints that we should only eat meat occasionally. The front incisors teeth are like scissors. They are designed for cutting and biting easy-to-break foods like leaves and berries and bread and soft meats (as in fish or cooked meats or eggs). We are perfectly suited for being vegetarians most of the time.

You forget your hands. They are not claws for capturing or killing animals. You are bipedal -- your legs are for running and watching for predators over the horizon. Your hands are free to gather fruits and nuts and berries and insects. But also to wield a club or spear or a rock to hunt mammoths and buffaloes.

Actually, they're designed to accomodate a varied diet. A rabbit is a typical vegetarian, but it only has the cutting teeth in front and grinding teeth in back. We have those, plus the flesh-ripping canines.

i think human teeth are able to accommodate a vegetarian diet, but i don't think they were designed to. if you think about it we were given both canines and molars. canines are designed for tearing apart meat. while on the other hand molars are designed more for fruits and vegetables. i hope i helped a little. sorry if i'm wrong. =]

THE RESPNSE FROM KITIANY IS VERY VERY CORRECT. WE, HUANS, ARE OMIVORES. WE CAN EAT VARIED FOODS, BUT ARE NOT DESIGNED LIKE LIONS, CATS, OR COWS. THEIR TEETH ARE MADE FOR BASICALLY THEIR OWN EVERYDAY DIETS.
OUR HANDS ARE PERFECTLY DESIGNED FOR PICKING AN APPLE OR GATHERING NUTS, BUT NOT FOR CATCHING A FLEEING RABBITT OR DEER.
