All morals are based on logic, one who is a believer in the spiritual world and scriptural Revelation just has a different logic than an atheist that thinks this is it.
If the Bible is true than getting saved and living a godly life makes a great deal of sense.
If you think this life is it than you will live accordingly.
Now of these two views who's is more logical? Who ever tunes out to be has rightly reason and whoever is wrong has not rightly reasoned, yet they reasoning may have been corect based on the premises that they held thought these might have been incorect. (Having Eternal Consequences.)
My point is this that all human being save the insane are logical and reasonable people even thought their conclusions contradict. This is because reasoning and or logic is based on the knowledge that a given individual possesses at a given time. Now it is of no consequence weather that knowledge is true or not, it only matters than this knowledge will set the perimeters within which logic or reason can and will be use within. If you don't believe in God you will fornicate unless you have another reason not to such as avoiding diseases, that is logical but it dose not mean that it is illogical for me not to sleep around because I believe it is a sin against God in whom I do believe.
Will both accounts the opposite decisions are reasonable and consistent with the believed premises of the two individuals.
Atheists and Agnostic have no monopoly on logic and reason. And "science" is no more rastional an indeveror than "religion", this idear is one of the great misconceptions of our time. For atheism is an emotional reaction against a God that is meneseing to man, (For he has the power to do all that is in His will including eternally daming that individual in the depths of Hell!) and agnostasism is simple an addmion of ignorence either willful or sincer.
If you think my reasoning is incorrect, please enlighten me, lest I continue in my ignorance.

What most people don't understand is that 999 times out of 1000 they are based on the same thing. You can't really name one part of the "moral character" that logical sense supports that wasn't wrote down 2000 plus years ago in the Holy Bible.

I think that moral values didn't suddenly come into existence when Christ gave his sermons. there has always been self serving and evil people and there always will be...whether they consider themselves religious or not. If Man had not developed morality and had kept his tendency to kill all strangers, trade would never have existed....civilization would not have even started because people would not have trusted each other on any level...Humans developed Civilization because there WAS common sense and basic trust...Religion is a way to separate you from the guy across the desert...just like accents or the way he dresses...It's easy to pick out "one of them"..."Our God is better than your God" sort of way.
There is the history of a group of raiders from Italy invading Sicily...The invasion failed and the Sicilians held check points and asked everyone to pronounce a certain word...The Sicilian way of course let you pass, but the Italian way got a sword in you back

All morals are instinctive, and your standings on social and emotional issues. Civility is what you actually say and do about it.
Logical sense opens up your civility to your morals. Religion seemingly replaces your morals with new civility.

One is an innie, one is an outie.
Logic is about intellection, morality is about wordly action. The two are interconnected, but humans have to take them one at a time.

Because oddly enough, morals that are based on practicality -- basically, those that don't destabilize the social order -- are usually encoded into religions because they boil down to Successful Sociology 101.
This leads some people to believe that the morals came from "on high" rather than from evolutionary pressures.

well The whole basis for morality is found in God..
Common sense is really not a basis for morality..
Do we then decide by democracy (voting) which moral codes we have??
This is really saying that we get together and decide for ourselves what is right and what is wrong, and that doesn't work very well. Everyone has different ideas and agendas..
The US laws are or were primarily based on the Bible's laws.
We have been slowly changing the laws in the US and the effects are really showing in our society. Society in general is failing fast. More Divorce, violent crime, drug addiction, and this is the result of our making up our own morality..
Don't forget that as created beings, our concience is part of our creation..
