I know im not a BAD person, but it cant be helpful to me being catholic and not going.

when i was littl(er), (im 13 now), my family used to go to church... every other week or so. then is started lessening and lessening. now we barely ever go. my sister is in college, she lives at home though, and my brother isnt exactly enthusiastic about anything. ANYthing. i wouldnt really mind going to church more often, though, it is kinda boring.. anyway. we didnt even go to church last christmas. i feel like im not even catholic, i go to a religion class every tuesday though.

i dont know what my question exactly is... i need some.. cheering up? maybe the real reason what makes you catholic besides going to church, even though it is a big part to every religion.

Your church attendance is *not* the measure of your value as a human being. Nor is it a measure of your goodness. Many good people never go to church, many bad people go every week.

If your non-attendance bothers you, bring it up with your parents. Chances are they'd be happy to let you go to church more often even if they don't always tag along.

It's not bad at all but if you want to go more often but you can't, then it's understandable that you'd feel a little 'bad'. If you are only 13, there's not much you can do about it when your family isn't going, especially if you need someone to drive you there. You can't make your family go if they don't feel like it. You could try asking them to take you more often and see if that helps but you may just have to wait until you are a little older so you can go on your own whenever you feel the need to go. If you were 16 and had a car, I'd tell you to just go on your own and you'd probably feel better. Those early teenage years really suck because you start to really want to do your own thing but you are still stuck in the house having to rely on your parents.

As for being Catholic without going to church, the only thing that really matters is what's in your heart. It's about what you believe in. You are obviously interested in keeping your faith and that's all that matters right now. You have no control over the rest since your parents aren't bringing you to church. You could try to get a ride with a friend that goes to your church if you want or have a talk with your parents about how you really feel like going more often again (if you're comfortable talking about that with them). Until your old enough to start driving yourself to church, I wouldn't worry too much about not going. Like you said, it IS kind of boring! A lot of people feel that way. Just keep going to religion class and you can pray at home you know. It's not like God thinks you're a bad Catholic when your 13 and you can't drive yourself to church.

Going to church shouldn't be a chore. You can praise your God from your own home. Church isn't a necessity. You should go whenever you want to learn more about the bible and it's teachings. You should go when you feel like you need to.

I know I am considered a heathen pagan but I don't hate chrisitans or catholics. I actually have some christian friends that are pretty cool.

You aren't a bad person. Even Jesus said only God is really good. But you should go to church. It lets you stronger. God can let a message to you there when you are needing. Better than go to church everyday is really know the owner of the house (Jesus).

If you don't like the church of your parents go try find other you like.

"Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come" (Matthew 12:31-32).

Thus, you are not "bad" for not performing a certain act. You are condemned based on whether or not you believe what the Holy Spirit is telling you about Jesus Christ. Anything else you do is forgiven. That one thing, tho, calling the Holy Spirit a liar, that is not forgiven.

That said, the folks who go to church--generally--are folks who listen to the Holy Spirit, and obey Him. But going to church no more makes you a Christian than sleeping in the garage makes you a car.

Attending mass/church is a celebration among fellow Christians but you do not have to be in actual church to practice your faith. God can hear you anywhere, with or without the company. Set your time aside to read & pray maybe consider going to mass on your own or with another.

Church is like a family who helps you in your faith walk. It is not so important that you go or attend a church as it is that you have an on-going relationship with God. Read your bible that is the most important thing. Have talks with God and He is always there to listen.

Not going to church does not make you a bad person. You can have morals without going to church. Some people who go to church are not good people so i would have to say no you are not a bad person.

No, you are not a bad person. I do not go to church, but that does not make me a nad person, I live with morals, I do not kill or steal. God does not care where you are....what makes a building the place to worship? Just live life "good" and you will be fine.
