I am having flu for the past 9 days and getting a little better but my mucus is starting to smell really bad.This is the 1st time such thing is happening to me.I can smell the bad smell whenever i blow my nose.What can i do to remove this bad smell?I am afraid this will lead to bad breath if it stays in my throat.

it could be a lot of things. I had a similar problem when I was getting over Mono. It turned out to be toncilitis. My doctor said that the smell can be caused from all of the salivary or mucous membranes and discharged to let your body know that there is either an infection or virus somewhere that needs dealt with.

It might be due to an infection which can cause a change in the "smell" of mucous discharge. An extremely foul smell might be due to a foreign object lodged in the nasal passage---are you sure you didn't lose a small piece of kleenex there? If this smell persists past two weeks(another 5 days) you should see a doctor.

bad breath should be the least of your worries. you are expelling toxic crap. take garlic, pleurisy root, astragalus, vitamin C and drink LOTS of water.

Go to the doctor tommorrow, you have sinus infection!!!!!!
