Because I believe in my God and I can quote you lots of scriptures that I believe from my book that I was given when I was young.

So is my God better than your God?

He must be because I feel very much superior to everyone who feels different. Is that the holy spirit or am I pompous?

I'm used to Christians saying that. It never gets old that I have the urge to contest them, but I know you are kidding.

And yes, this is pomp, not Holy Spirit. ;p

There is no one true god. There are many pathways and we must all find the right one for us. No one god is better than any other god. Its more important how we live our lives day to day as well as how we interact with others. Your beliefs are just as valid for you as mine are for me. If you feel superior to others because of your religion then, yes, your being pompous.

I'm confused. Just remember don't judge lest you be judged. Religion should never be an excuse for arrogant behavior, arrogant actions are the sin of pride. Zeal for God, which it sort of sounds like here is okay if not taken to extremes like hurting non-believers.

i propose the test of ST. Patrick.

i will wear your coat and you wear mine. we will make 2 thach huts with walls 3 feet thick. we will then set one aflame and one of us will enter the other will shut the door. when the fire has burned itself out if either of us remains that will be the sign that that god is stronger.

i will make sure that nobody interfers in your test.

when you are done i will enter my hut and you may remain outside to do the same for me.

if either party should die it will be taken as a sign that their god is false and the test will end then.

ready,

you go first.

If my god's people could be coerced into each giving ten percent of their earnings to me, I might be able to place books in hotel rooms and such, build large chruches, hire great actors to be faith healers, get more money, and maybe we'd have equal gods.

Your god is yourself, and certainly that is not a god to be worshipped. Maybe in judging God you should try something called REASON. God is not against that you know.

There are over 2,000 gods in human history. Who says that you have the right one? None of them can be proven, but all of them can be wrong.
