I used to like the red, and used it to decorate cupcakes for Easter. Try this: Ice the cupcakes in white, sprinkle red dyed coconut on them for grass, place some jelly beans on it, then bend a red vine and place one end in either side of the cupcake. You've made a mini Easter basket that's so cute, especially when you have a platter of them to share!

But If you read the labels you'll see that neither of the red nor black are actual licorice, but have artificial licorice flavoring (sometimes anise). The real licorice is more expensive and mostly comes form England. The only one I've found here in the US that's real is Panda brand, and I get mine from Drugstore.com or a natural health food store. Why? Because it's good for the stomach and it also helps stabilize blood sugar. Doesn't taste bad, either.Try it!
