So, lately I have been really crabby and I don't have a reasoning why. I have been getting irritated by literally EVERYONE to the point that I just want to be alone in isolation! Like, get me a padded cell or something! I don't have my period, and i'm not even close to getting my period, so it's not PMS. I have not been able to get more than 5 hours of sleep for the past 3 days. I have no had any motivation to do anything and i just feel crappy!!! what the hell is going on??? Get me some prozac or something! Also, I have not been giving two hoots about my schooling, like I care, but I don't want to do anything about it!

Yes, those are characteristics of depression. As awkward as it may seem, I would talk to your parents about it, or join an online community for depression. Talking to someone, sometimes especially a stranger, can help a lot.

If you are a teenager, alot of it could be hormonal. I would if you have insurance, see an endrocronologist and have your hormonal levels checked. There is also something called PMDD that is like having PMS all month long. Your symptoms are also classic for depression and anxiety. You need to also see a psychiatrist and get on some med. if this has been going on a while. You could try talking to a counsler first but it didn't do anything for me. I've taken various anti-depression and anti-anxiety meds. over the years and found Prozac and Lexapro to be the best with the least side effects. Some of them made me feel worse though like Lithium. Usually, if you're depressed, all you want to do is sleep so since you're not able to to, it makes me think you make have anxiety as well. Maybe your doctor can give you a small dose of Ativan or Xanax at night for a short while but don't get addicted. If he won't, try taking Benedryl before bed, it really works!

You may just be going through stressful week... It happens to the best of us. If this pattern continues for more than 2 weeks, I would consider talking to your doctor.
If you can't take a real vacation, maybe see if you can take a "mental" day from school and everything else. When I would get really stressed like that in high school, my mom would call the school for me and I could sleep late and just veg out; a mini-vacation. If you can, do it on a Monday or Friday so you get the benefit of a three-day weekend.
Definitely ask for their support and don't ditch school. You'll just be adding more stress to your situation.

Take care,
Mon :-)

You sound like a normal teenager with emotional ups and downs.... So no, it doesn't sound like depression... If your moods last for months on end, I would seek professional help, but 3 days? Get real, it's probably hormones speaking (just because you're not close to your period doesn't mean you hormones can't be all out of whack!).

Prozac is not a quick fix, and most people who suffer from depression aren't quick to just jump on meds like you seem so eager to do. Depression is not some kind of fad as you seem to make it out to be through your flippant remarks! i.e. "Get me some prozac or something!".

It could be that your hormones are going crazy this week. School is really dull at this point in the semester. I don't think your depressed just hang in there, this too shall pass.

yeah, your depressed. Or you could be having a problem with your thyroid. I would go see a Dr and have some blood work done. Are you worried about something?
