I have never called in when I wasn't sick. I did call in when it was the day after I was sick and I still wasn't feeling great. You can call me a liar if you want, but I am feeling good that you can't prove it. What the hell am I talking about? I dont call in at all!!!

Yeah, I've done it. I'm a college student and I work a min. wage job. A few times, opportunities have come along and I didn't give the standard 2-weeks notice to request a day off and I've called out.
I've never been caught, but I do sometimes look over my shoulder while out. Everyone needs a mental health day. So, if you do it once in a blue moon, then don't feel bad about it.

At school I did, but at work I can honestly say no. Because at school, it was my own work I missed, I either had to catch up later or would get not as good a grade, but I saw that as my responsibility. At my job, as well as at any of the jobs I've had before, the work can't wait, so my colleagues have to fill in for me and I don't think that's fair. I know I'd be p*ssed if I had to run my butt off and found out later someone wasn't really sick!
If the work remains on your desk and you have to do it later yourself I guess it's your own choice but when others have to work a lot harder to pick up the slack, then it's a lousy thing to do.

I'm 25 and I haven't called in sick (lying) since I was 21 I think. As I got older I realized that you're really leaving your place of employment short handed. If I want a day off, I usually get it by asking in advance.

Yes, once in the past few years, just because I partied too much, and if I showed up, I would've brought the business down with me. I felt no guilt. It's best I didn't show up intoxicated.
Otherwise, I'm a very honest and loyal worker. I don't take advantage. I schedule days off.

yeah- whenever theres a snow storm up north - i gotta call in to work and go riding!!
but the trick is.... (yes i will share my secret!!):
Call in the evening BEFORE, when you know your boss isnt there and leave a voicemail for your boss telling him whatever excuse you can come up with- Your boss will be appreciative of the forethought in calling the night before, and will think it is something fairly important again because you called the night before!!
its a great trick- your boss will also be impressed that you were thinking of work the night before as well
..... use wisely!!
