Both... it has nothing to do with a "generation", however. Like in the bible... should a man look upon a woman to lust after her, he has committed sin in his heart already.. but honestly, it's a lack of integrity, or you can say a bit of ignorance within people who can't really control their hormones, like myself sometimes, lol. I guess that made sense...

Lust is your genes encouraging you to reproduce. While you would be well-advised to consider the appropriateness of acting on your lust (their are both short-term and long-term implications to behavior) the whole "sin" idea is a fabrication. It is not some sort of personal failure or shortcoming if you are not the the first person ever to overcome billions of years of instinctual sex drive.

And if the answer about all of us being born sinners isn't the biggest load of crap ever, I don't know what is.

Lust is normal and healthy and very natural. Without it, we wouldn't be here. You can lust after your love, believe me! Sin is a concept, possibly applicable if something about what you are going to do or are doing makes you feel bad...that may be your conscience trying to tell you something. But I would not actually consider it sin, anyways, and in any case
>>>sin is not for humans to judge... and that's about all we agree on here in Religion & Spirituality!!!

Lust is your body expressing its sexual desires. Christianity teaches that this is sinful because it demeans the subject of our passions into an object. INstead of developing affection for the person, lust leads to affection for the person's body, which can't last forever. Eventually we would tire of anyone if we merely were attracted to their bodies without a true affectionate attachment to the individual.

I really like what 29 Char said.

Lust is something that we are all born with. In marriage, desire would most probably be the word that we would use for our loved one.

Because of Adam and Eve's disobedience, we are all born sinners. All of us can be homosexuals, murders, fornicators, thieves, adulterers or liars. Maybe even more than one of those. We all sin which is the reason that we all are born separated from God and do the things that He has told us not to do..

Jesus came to the earth for the purpose of becoming the blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins. Those of us who will choose Him as our Lord and Savior and repent (which means to turn away from sin), will be given the free gift of eternal life with God.

God doesn't want anyone to be lost. That is why even though we are born sinners, He has provided Jesus for us. Not choosing Jesus is the only way that we remain separated from God.

Coming to Jesus for love, leadership and forgiveness is the way to go to Heaven. The only way.

Lust or the desire to have sex and/or to posess material things is a natural part of who we are as human beings. That having been said, it doesnt mean that we have to be controlled by it or any other natural impulse. We just have to accept its existance and then take responsibility for how we use it and/or respond to it.

Arjuna said: O descendant of Vrisni, by what is one impelled to sinful acts, even unwillingly, as if engaged by force?
PURPORT
A living entity, as part and parcel of the Supreme, is originally spiritual, pure, and free from all material contaminations. Therefore, by nature he is not subject to the sins of the material world. But when he is in contact with the material nature, he acts in many sinful ways without hesitation, and sometimes even against his will.

The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: It is lust only, Arjuna, which is born of contact with the material mode of passion and later transformed into wrath, and which is the all-devouring sinful enemy of this world.
PURPORT
When a living entity comes in contact with the material creation, his eternal love for Krishna is transformed into lust, in association with the mode of passion. Or, in other words, the sense of love of God becomes transformed into lust, as milk in contact with sour tamarind is transformed into yogurt. Then again, when lust is unsatisfied, it turns into wrath; wrath is transformed into illusion, and illusion continues the material existence. Therefore, lust is the greatest enemy of the living entity, and it is lust only which induces the pure living entity to remain entangled in the material world.
