it will help burn calories running around and stuff, but if you dont have a daily calorie defeceit of at least 500 each day, you will not lose the fat.
I suggest you find your BMI and deduce 500 from that and eat that amount a day.
Stay away from too much sugar.

Definitely! Any activity is better than lying down or sitting! I used to work at starbucks and it is definitely a semi-active job. I was tired after my 8hr shifts, for sure!
Losing weight is all about calories in vs calories out. You must east less calories than you expend to lose weight. I.e: Eat 1500, expend 2000 for a 500 calorie deficit. Over a week 500 x 7 = 3500, which is the equivalent to the loss of 1 pound of fat. Make a 1000 calorie deficit and day, meaning 7000 cals/week, and you will lose 2 pounds per week!
You can achieve this deficit through a combination of diet/exercise.
While working at starbucks isn't 'exercise', it does contribute to a higher # of cals burned/day.

Any type of activity, even sleeping, requires energy to be expended. Thus, standing and walking does "burn calories", but certainly not as much as other activities such as running, swimming, cycling, etc. ... .
In order to lose weight (or fat) from your mid-section, the best scenario would be to find some type of excercise that will focus on the abdominal and other muscles that exist in this area (the most common would be sit-ups, but now-a-days there are many other activities that could even be more productive in strengthening / losing fat from this area of the body)

Standing no, walking yes. But the problem is you're not going to loose much weight walking. In free time, I sugguest you do some real exercising.

it could. the calories that are burned while working are probably nothing to what you eat everyday. So it is doubtful but again possible. Especially if you never really walk at all. While walking Increase and decrease the speed. It will get your heart rate up and you will burn more.
