I asked a question here on yahoo about my mom dieing and it really helped me. i'm not saying i'm not completely sad but i'm not as sad as every body thinks!! they try to comfort me when i'm crying but it's usally because i scraped my knee or something but they always asume it's because my mom. I try to tell them but they think I'm trying to just avoid it. How do i make them believe i'm not as sad as they think

It's hard to deal with people who are trying to help, especially when you don't want or need it. The truth is, you don't have to make them believe anything, just thank them for their concerns and go about your business.

And don't let anyone tell you how you "should" feel--your feelings are yours, not theirs.

I'm sorry about your loss.

But look no one can tell you how you "should" be feeling....

In the past two years two of my best friends have passed a way. I dealt with both very differently. The first friend, I grieved for months, my life came to a stand still. The second, I felt sad, but I hardly cried or grieved (everyone expected me to be much more upset). I know when I am ready to accept it and come to terms with his death that I will.

Everyone deals with loss differently. Of course you are sad, but you are sad in your own way. When you are ready to grieve you will, you obviously have a lot of people who care about you who will be there for you. So just tell them, when you are ready to talk you will.

Just try to forgive them sweetie. I know that must be pretty annoying to you sometimes. People just never know what to do or say in those kind of sensitive situations. Maybe you can try and explain to them that when they do that, it actually makes you feel worse about things.

Take care,

k

not that it really matters what they think but you could just try living your normal life and being able to do normal activities with a good attitude and stuff. If people see you being normal they will leave you alone.

before they even try to comfort u..just explain to them why u r sad/crying..that will stop them from thinking that u r sad bcoz of ur mom..or probably u can just lie them that ur mom is not dying (soon) and she has recovered from her illness..this probably will stop them from bugging u..whatever it is..be strong ok...every living creature will return to their creator.....take care..

either they will understand or they wont. just keep telling them your not crying because of your mom. point out the boo boo or bruise to them. good luck

Well if you're not avoiding it, than explain that to them.
