Aleister Crowley defined magic as "The Law and Science of Causing Change to Occur in Accordance with Will." I think that's a pretty accurate definition.
Magic enhances one's life in at least three different ways that I can think of.
First, learning it requires learning how to harness and focus one's will. This is a useful skill in many ways that have nothing to do with magic.
Second, assuming it works, it allows the practitioner to lay their hands on the underlying energies of the universe and shape them (to a certain extent) in accordance with their focussed will. This leads to a greater sense (and reality) of mastery of one's life.
Third, at least in Wicca, the practice of magic means bringing oneself into contact and harmony with the natural energies that give life to the universe itself. This leads to greater attunement with the world around us and with the Divine.
I'm sure others will come up with other examples, but those are the ones that immediately come to mind for me.

in the same way that prayer enshances the lives of monothiest's magic does to the Pagan or witch. though we exert more effort and take responsibility for following through on a spell with practical steps to lead to a positive conclusion.
if i do magic to help me live a better life, but i do not bother to get a job it will do nothing for me.
however with same said spell , and an effort to get a job, i could land a job that will open the door for greater opportunities that will allow me to live a better life///
this is an example i am generaly against prosperity magic.

Stage magic? Well, it's entertainment.
If you mean spiritual magic; I've got a better answer.
Think of it as our way of talking to our inner selves. Sometimes a god too. Some people use this as a way to get physical things [well, that's how most get started, and we all keep to that kind of thing EDIT: {As in, it's basic practice for more spiritual operations}], like a job, a feeling, or something.
It's really like opening your mind up to a flood of emotion and thought. I'm not going to say "OMGs! IT'S ALL SUPERNATURAL!!!!!" as I fully expect the same thing happens to nuns, and priests, as well as anyone devoting their entire selves to a task.

A parallel question - how can prayer enhance your life?
The answer will likely be very similar.

It can't. It can only fool you into thinking that magic rules. It doesn't. God is in control.
