It is possible to get ringworm if you’ve handled a horse (or other pet) with the condition. Ringworm appears as round red patches that are scruffy and itchy.
Ringworm is a fungal skin disease which for most people is more irritating than dangerous, though it can cause scarring (due to constant scratching) and may be of concern to individuals with poor immune systems.
Ringworms are not actually worms they are skin infections and have nothing to do with worms, and many kids in daycare centers get them, they are not dangerous to humans , just irritating. They are ok during pregnancy, but there are some medicines that some people use to treat ringworms that can be harmful during pregnancy. I suggest that if you get a ringworm go to the doctor for treatment and don't use any creams with out asking the doctor.
What complications can result from Ringworm?
Lack of or inadequate treatment can result in an infection that will not clear up.

It is not really dangerous, as in the ringworm fungus itself cannot be passed to your baby while you are pregnant.
BUT, if you contract it from the foal, you will have difficulty getting rid of it because you are very limited on the topical anti-fungal creams that you can use while pregnant.
I would have someone else treat/care for the foal until the ringworm issue is resolved.
The best treatment for ringworm in horses is to use Happy Jack shampoo according to the directions. It will get rid of it in a very short period of time. After treating with the shampoo, use a topical cream that contains miconazole and clotrimazole, both of which are available OTC for human use (you cannot use it though since you are pregnant.) Have your hubby treat it, or if you must do it, be sure to wear some latex gloves to keep you from getting it, and don't let the foal rub against you (this will be the tendency since ringworm is itchy stuff).
Good luck and congratulations on your new addition! (Both equine and human lol)

Ringworm is very very easilt passed from one creature to another.
It would not be good to catch it while pregnant as I am not sure how much of the antifungal cremes you can safely use. And it takes weeks of treatment to clear it up

With proper precautions, its not very dangerous (say, if you HAVE to handle the foal), but as with all pregnant women, it is better to stay clear of all kinds of worms and infectious diseases. Risks are still there.
