I work in a vet clinic and about 3 weeks before my wedding, a cat scratched my face (my NOSE!!!) I was devastated. Since it happened at work, I had to go to a doctor who said I may need STITCHES!! I burst into tears, and the sarcastic nurse told the doctor to "Be her hero, and don't make her have stitches". In the end, they used tape, and with enough cover-up and bronzer, you couldn't even tell. But BOY was I upset at the time. Just make sure you keep it clean, and it doesn't get infected, or things will be way worse than what they are now, cats are full of germs. GOOD LUCK, chickie!

What did you do to make the cat "accidently" scratch your face?

If you had annoyed/scared it, then it will be a reminder to a be a bit more careful. Wash the scratch with antiseptic and the mark will pobably be gone in the morning.
If the scratch is a deep one, then you must have really upset the cat. Let it be a lesson to you.

My fiance and children have been scratched on the face by our kitten, and the one on my fiance's face was awful. They were just playing and well, the kitty got half his face. The kitten goes into my boys' room at night if the door isn't latched and will scratch them in their sleep. I hate it when it happens to other people.
When i was young, like 5 or so, I was moving a butter wrapper that the cat was cleaning off and she went nuts on me. I had my whole little face COVERED in scratches and had infections from them. I still have scars and it's amazing that I can still trust and love my cats to the point where I'd kill for them. I don't remember what my dad did to the cat that got me. I think she was put down or moved to a local farm. I want to get this kitty declawed so we all can enjjoy him, but I am a procrastinator after all. so it's not going to be any time soon.

Just make sure you clean it good. Cat's claws are very dirty because of digging in the litter pan. You know that song, "Cat Scratch Fever"? Well, it's not a made up thing...it's a very real illness and you get it from being scratched by dirty icky claws that have been in the litter box.

Wash and disinfect the scratch. Apply antibiotic ointment a couple of times a day. That is supposed to help it heal faster. Yes, I'd be dead upset, too. Clip your kitty's claws so it doesn't happen again.

Nope. Actually, my cat scratched my face last week, and it was no big deal. Just cleaned it up and all was good.

Besides, I'm the one who freaked him out to begin with and it was completely on accident. How could I be mad at him for something that was my fault?

Aww, I understand! But don't worry, the scratch will go in about a week! And it will provide a conversation piece until then. Don't worry about it too much, there are worse injuries you could have on your face xx

Not unless it is severely deep...Just wash it thoroughly and use an OTC antibiotic ointment and of course keep and eye on it for severe redness, swelling, or streaks of any kind. I think you will be o.k. Mine has done this before but was minimal even tho it hurt like heck at the moment.

You are not alone!!!

My house mate went bonkers when my kitten accidently scratched her face whne falling of the bed in a particularly rough game of tag with me!!

She really lost it with both me and kitty, but eventually got over it when she realised she wouldn't be scarred for life.....!

I wouldn't. I have been scratched by more then one of my cats on the face. Put some antibiotic ointment on it and it should be fine.
