It seems like girls just don't take me seriously when i ask them out. how do i correct this problem. in other words, what do i have to be done to be taken seriously?

ask girls in your age range and ask if they would like to see a movie with you and ask witch one they want to see and say you will pay. or just ask if she would like to have a cup of coffee with you . or just say lets go get some thing to drink? do not say the word date.

Give her something of sentimental value of your word. Something to show your words are true of meaning and that you're serious. Like getting her flowers or something. Not anything big, but just something small to show that you put effort and thought into it. And definately don't crack jokes before you ask her out.

You must be joking to much beforehand with them be serious until ask then you can be normal.
