i thought that was Cerritos. i went to their web page and they said it was incorprated in 1956 as Dairy Valley and then becam Cerritos in 1963.

I move in OC in 1963. For many years we used to drive out there to get fresh milk products, and manure for the garden. It is hard ot beleive that now. Cerritos is all homes and the 91 fwy. I remember reading somewhere that the farms all moved to Chino and now are getting pushed out due to housing. Bummer!

p.s. Paris you are such a stinker to even find such trivia!

Paris, you tricky girl! "Copestir" hit it right on the button. Dairy Valley used to be in what is now the City of Cerritos. Most of the land was owned by a couple farming families of Dutch extraction who, as the area began to grow, slowly sold off their land, became very wealthy, and moved their dairy enterprises out to the Norco / Chino area. ( and for the same reason are now moving out of state.) One of the families had a small drive thru dairy store near what is now the intersection of Artesia Blvd & Pioneer Blvd. There is still a small feed mill near there not far from where the Aeromexico Airlines plane crashed in August, 1986. So it all once used to be pasture land. That in part explains why all those nice, up scale homes in Cerritos have such remarkably green lawns.

Go all the way east on the 10 Freeway. there's a huge sign that you can't miss saying "Dairy Valley This Way -->" Good luck.
