Yes, I have thought the same thing. There is much to be learnt from this movie............This pain of seeing some people[christians] that think nature is corrupt is the catalyst for Dorthy's[everyman/woman] trip to Oz, to find the truth so she is told to follow 'The Yellow Brick Road"[golden path].
