Put his cage lower than your eye-level, but high enough to keep it out of harms way ... kids, cats, etc.

Don't let him fly around the room.

I would clip wings for training purposes.

Take him out of the cage, when it is dusk-dark, and get to know him very slowly.

You have to build trust with him. If you had wings, you wouldn't understand hands. Put on some thin (but not too thin) cotton gloves when you handle him.

Remember, we have eyes on the front of the face, they have side views. We are predators, they are prey.

Birdie is simply afraid.

Its a Lovebird. did you examine something approximately those earlier to procure them. via moving the lovebirds mutually they have began to bond. She bites at you by using fact she no longer desires you. You have been as quickly as her male lovebird. whilst they are on the play pen and she or he bites at him, it fairly is a organic instinct to guard him. She needs him to fly away, yet they often do no longer. in case you prefer all this to grant up seperate them lower back. yet be conscious you will get extra noise whilst/in case you do!

when i got my peach faced love bird i had the same problem and my vet told me that i could put on a leather glove and handle her that way. she thought that she was the boss and as long as i was gentle about it i could force her to work with me until she saw that i was in charge. also he recommended that i clipped her wings until i trained her and worked with her in a small room. its just easier that way i would suppose. anyway that worked for me. hope you have some luck.
