I'm currently at school, living in a traditional dorm room with one of my good friends. I love her to death, but lately she never leaves the room. She's very anti-social and doesn't really have many friends, so she doesn't go out. Her boyfriend is constantly up here and they never go out, so I get zero privacy in the room. It's starting to drive me nuts! I understand it's her room too, but how do I nicely ask her to get the heck out for a little while every so often? I always make sure to offer her privacy when I can, even if it means going for a run with my ipod for an hour or two. Am I being inconsiderate?

I can't afford an apartment or a single room :( So I just wonder how to try and make the best out if this situation without losing her as a friend.

Just Kick her *** out, or ask her to stay at her
boyfriends place a few times a week.!

I worked in on an Island Resort for 3 years and I
also shared a room with my good friend and it can
be tough, especially when it comes to some alone
time with your Girlfriend.

You really just need to have a little chat to her and
explain the situation and how you feel, that's what
me and my friend did and we got along fine..!!

Or maybe you should find another anti-social
person and swap rooms, if she doesn't under
stand you and appreciate what you are asking
of her she isn't you friend, she's mealy an
acquaintance that you share a room with..!

Best way to achieve a goal is to come straight out and say things. Being cowardly accomplishes nothing. However---

Stop giving them privacy. If they ask for it, let them see what it is like to never have the privacy. The two of them have a good relationship so they dont need others. I can relate. But there is such a thing as being disrespectful. Set up alone time schedules. Entire afternoons, evenings. OR--

Hit on her bf by being provacative. Dress a bit TOO casually and give him glances. Unless she wants to invite you to join them, I am sure she will start to realize having him around you all the time is probably not a good idea. OR

Simply make a sign that says == I WANT ROOM FROM 5pm - 9pm Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday

You can try to ask her nicely, but she doesn't have to leave. She could stay in there every minute of the day except to take her tests if she wanted to. The only person you are able to kick out is the boyfriend.

How can you stand it? I would get a sleeping room or an apartment.

while ur roomate and her bf are there, just say that they should both go out and have some fun; so you could have some alone time to focus and study.

no not at all. Not everybody is going to see things the way you do, it's the way it is. You are going to have to put up with it till you get your own place, and i hope you do someday.
