If a 21 year old woman is 5'4" and 108 pounds, but obviously is firm and in shape, is that too thin? What would you think of that?

NO!!! my way of thinking about it is weight and height works to see if someone is too thin sometimes but alot of ppl have different weight in bones, hair, skin, (boobs). It just all depends. She sounds good to me.

If she is "firm" and in "shape" as you put it she would probably weigh more - the only way you get firm is from a combo of cardio and weight training. Weight training builds muscle and muscle weighs more than fat... Many top athletes BMIs come up as obese - because of their muscle definition! Worry about measurements more than the scales.

It's the absolutely minimum healthy weight for someone your height. So you are okay, but just don't go any lower.

HTH : )

As long as you're happy with yourself. Isn't that enough?
