how can i find out the model of the truck?..other than going to the DMV or calling a GMC dealer? is there a website to look up that info?

i was given this truck from a friend, and i've been looking for parts for the vehicle and i don't know the model? i've tried putting the vin # in search engines but i can't seem to get any to work? any suggestions as to finding the model?

take the numbers off the VIN, vehicle identification number and enter that into your search engine, it will tell you what the codes mean and what the vehicle brands were

If it's a 3/4 ton GMC, then it's a Chevrolet 2500 series full size pick up truck, there might be more to it if it's an upgraded model but I would start with that and take it from there.
Only other thing you'll want to know is engine size, and 2wd or 4wd.

look on your dashpad in front of whre the passenger sits. If thats not there I dont know.
