Chechnya is an autonomic republic. It is one of the 21 foreign republics that are contained in the Russian Federation. In 1994 they tried to break away from us and since then we are at war with the those rebels. Even though in 2006 we killed their leader, warlord Shamil Basayev, those Muslims just can't live under the Christian Russian domination so they keep fighting. It is hard to fight them because they attack convoys in big packs and constantly receive supplies from the Taliban and other mujahedeen groups.

Chechnya is a part of Russia. President Putin is in control of that region just as much as he is with Moscow and soforth. The problem with Chechnya is Muslims. The Muslims are the same way there as they are in Iran. They take great pride in capturing Russian Soldiers and cutting their heads off and video taping it in front of their children. You will never hear about that on the news because Democrats control the media and they are on the Muslim side. Why are they at war you ask. Well, that is a good question I will be happy to answer. All they want to do is form their own country and break ties completely with the Russian Government. Russia will not let them because if Russia lets Chechnya have their independence then other areas around Chechnya will try to do the same thing and then Russia will have to got to war with that region.
