you cannot win, they just get tired, to have an honest debate, you have to be on a level playing field.
where you probably base your argument on science, the Christian beliefs are based of Faith, and if you have never had faith in God, then you will never understand where they are coming from, so you are at a loss from the beginning.
i am not trying to insult you, simple trying to explain that neither one of you can possible understand the other. so debate is useless.

in the adventure that they back down that's in all likelihood Christians which aren't from now on completely knowledgeable in there beliefs. besides the indisputable fact that there are really some Atheists that provide blunt nonsense solutions that possibly Christians wont waste there time with? What Christian could you opt for to have a debate with how about Albert Einstein or Hugh Ross? i'm extraordinarily efficient they have an outstanding form of the solutions because they did the homework and got here up with one answer! There must be a author! And finally we can win because all of us understand what the purpose is and performance the reality. i wish you'll search for it out as well!! solid success per chance we can meet sometime!

In America it takes a lot of cohonas to be an atheist. So most atheists know what they are talking about. On the other hand, It's allmost cool to be a Christian.Consequently, you get a lot of people who may be quite sincere, but havn't really done there homework. If you argued with a Christian in Rusia 20 years ago, you would be dealing with a very resolute person who knew what and why he believed it. Where as an atheist in Russia 20 years ago would be not as well educated in his doctrine as an American atheist today. It has nothing to do with who is right or wrong. If you are swiming against the tide you have to know why you are doing it. By the way, I'm a Christian

I'm not a Christian... but here is my take on why, having been in your very shoes a number of times. I think it is because they think that they already won and you are the sore loser, too stubborn to agree with their point of view and arguments. That they have an understanding that, in the end, only they can understand. And that's how it usually ends.
Too bad that the debate died. Debates make things interesting when they happen civilly and with both sides listening to the others thoughts. It doesn't work if both are speaking and no one is listening. And it certainly can't continue with only one person in the room... unless you are debating with yourself or with God! LOL
I think people are losers when the debating stops. Because that's when thinking stops.

Most Christians are not on YA in Religion & Spirituality because they already know what's up!
You on the other hand... you people who don't believe in anything.... why are YOU here in the Religion & Spirituality section??? Trying to convert? Trying to corrupt?
You WILL be judged for your acts.
What are the people you're talking about actually going to lose? Their souls?????? heh heh Keep impressing yourself fancy pants! If you don't want to hear about God and refuse to believe in Him, why are you here?
That goes for all you atheists. Why even bother to come here?
Most Christians are at home praying, eating, prasing, or simply enjoying their God-given peace and not on the internet at all.. so don't get too carried away with yourself there. Are you trying to say there are no intelligent Christians?

Why keep fighting when you know you've lost? How can you continue to debate when you have nothing further to say?
If you're cornered, and there is no way to win, you either have to admit the other person is right, or you have to walk away. Those who quit have chosen the later strategy. It's called retreat.

Because, by then they would have realized they should not have entered into debate over their faith. Faith is always at the individual level and is not fact the way logic can sees things. Faith is beyond the limited human intelligence and so its best left without debates.

Maybe they didn't have an answer to something you supposedly cornered them on. I have no idea, I wasn't there when this went down. Not all Christians have all the answers. They're human, not God or all knowing.
If you're so hardcore, why would you debate about something you don't believe in? Why not go on about your day whistling a happy tune? Seems like alot of wasted time seeing as you won't convince them and they won't convince you.

atheists !!! How clever to place the 'burden of proof' upon the Christians...
Christians..their position is one of 'faith' too; and by you being placed in the awkward position of defending and justifying that which is apprehended by faith--- you are in a 'no win' position...
So, know that going into the debate...your task is to simply state your truth and let the devil take the hindmost.....LOL
Secret??? hindmost what????
See the arrogance of this dude/dudette.."you quit when he/she has you cornered"...? See the fallacy of his/her logic? You start out cornered? Don't let them lay the burden of proof on you !!! Out play..Out Wit...Out Last

obviously, your smarter than every body else. do the math. you corner someone with your logic, when the subject is not linear, or logical it is non-physical reality, your a scholar in eastern thought, have read all the ancient tomes, concluded that you know more than others, but are reduced to attacking others of faith, how pathetic that you identify yourself as atheist, is that your best shot? i suspect your one of lifes biggest losers, and your question, reflects that. who are you to say there is no god? kind of arrogant, I would say, maybe there is maybe there isn't. get a life
