Okay, so today, two of my friends came up to me and asked me to be in a prom group with them. I wasn't planning on going to prom since it's Junior prom and I'm a sophomore, but I got thinking about it, and there's only one girl I want to ask in the whole school. The problem is...I'm sure someone already asked her. I don't know her very well, either, so I don't know how I could hint around and ask her. Should I ask one of my friends to ask her if she's going with anyone? If so, what should I say to my friend? Should I just say "Hey, could you find out for me if so-and-so is going to the prom with anyone?" Thanks in advanced.

My best advice is probably not what you're going to like. I'm a Junior in high school and at my school we only have a senior prom, so the dance is always a really big deal. (Plus I live in the south...lol)
You said yourself that you weren't planning on going because you're a sophomore. Maybe instead of putting yourself through the stress of finding out if she has a date yet and asking a girl you barely know, take the time to get to know her first. Maybe next year for your Junior prom you'll ask her when the dance is more relevant to you, and by then you'll know her well enough to ask her yourself and not use your friends as an avenue to get to know her better.
Most girls...if they don't know you very well and you ask them to something like a dance, it's uncomfortable. We usually see dances as a very big event, and we feel much more comfortable going with someone we know we'll have a good time with. Especially because of all the monetary fees involved...
Get to know her first!

If your friend asks, he will get the gurl (if not taken already)
lose the shy crap and get yourself out in the open. Shyness gets you nothing believe me.

the only way to find out is 2 ask right? i htink that the best way to get the direct answer and to let her know ur interested is to ask her urself if she is going and if she is if she has a date already......if u r too scared too ask her then ur next best option is to ask someone to find out for u........u wont know until u ask right?
