Hi all, I am a 21 year old woman, and I am taking pictures tomorrow for my Real Estate business cards. The photographer at JCPenny told me that since my cards are going to be black with gold "foil" (I will be working with Century 21) it would be best to wear a blue colored top. What accessories would look nice? I will be wearing a light aqua top, and I am very fair skinned. Also, how much makeup, if any should I wear? Thanks to all!

Blue is always a good choice for business photos regardless of the colors of the company you work for because it is professional without being drab. For your outfit, I'd stick to black or matching aqua accessories... The photo is of you, not your accessories! Your face sells the house, and you don't want your jewelry to detract from your smile!
As for makeup, the picture on your business card will not be any larger than 1 inch by 1 inch - in other words, TINY! So you'll want to wear some makeup to make your features like your eyes and lips pop. Go for a good foundation and powder to ensure that your skin won't look shiny under the flash, and opt for neutral makeup that is just slightly on the darker side of what you would normally wear for day-to-day business... something more like evening makeup, but remember: NO SHIMMERY STUFF! Add a good layer of mascara and you'll be all set.

A light blue top should work just fine. The benefit behind that, beyond the color standing out on your card, is that studies show blue is the most trusted color when it comes to finance and securities. Make-up should be kept respectable, with nothing too flashy (think Easter Sunday at Church). Keep the accessories at a minimum, though gold looks good with what you've mentioned. A thin gold chain with a small pendant or charm, simple earrings should look quite nice. Good luck with the pics and new career!
