All organized religion is bad for the planet and for humanity.

Neither good nor bad. Various sects of Christianity have produced beautiful things. It takes only one climb up St. Paul's in London or one Quaker meeting or one listen to Sam Cooke to tell that.

Unfortunately, all religions have also had their bad periods, which I don't need to detail here. I don't know if Christianity's good points and bad points explicitly cancel each other out, but as an institution (not talking about individual Christians here), I think the Christian religion has produced a fairly 50-50 track record.

A

As with any thing the influence depends on the individual being "look at".

A true Christian will stand firmly on the oracles of God, sow the seed, and let God bring forth the harvest if the seed has fallen on fertile soil.

A "wannabee christian" who is on the fence or lukewarm may hand out "warmfuzzies" to folks but not give them a firm foundation on which to build their understandings and faith.

A christian who "rides the backs" of nonchristians would be a bad influence for people.

So basically it depends on the individual and their attitudes and their presentation.

True christianity is good for all those who will hear and obey.

The scriptures are like a LIGHTHOUSE BEACON which can guide us OUT of the darkness of THIS world INTO the LIGHT of eternal salvation IF we will STUDY it, ACCEPT it, and OBEY it from our heart. God showed his great love for us by his giving us HIS thought process to guide us to Him.

B. Since religion can't think or do for itself, it's not the religion that influences. It's the people who practice the religion and their interpretation of it that is influential and takes religion to a good place or a bad place. Just my opinion.

C.
Historically religion has proved itself to be an bad influence, and the greater the control that religion has on its society the greater the atrocities that have been done in the name of its perspective god.

C. Definitely. I am of the opinion that Christianity is a mediocre idea gone horribly, horribly wrong. Many of its fundamental teachings strike me as innately harmful and damaging; its followers tend to be close-minded and bigoted; and its theology is flawed.

The religion is nothing, but the followers are an irritant when they push the religion...

C. It oppresses science, encourages prejudice, promotes the indoctrination of children and teaches that 'faith' is a virtue.

"A" is my answer. It depends, though, on which sect a person associates with. It also depends on how the particular sect works, treats, and interprets etc.
