Two men, Bill and Bob. Both men devout Christians, deacons of their church, strong prayers and spiritual life, walk in spirit and truth. Every time Bill prays God grants and answers. Bob on the other hand has to pray over and over for a granted prayer or answer.
Pretending that both men are equal in their relationship with God would you say one is favored over the other?

Absolutely Not! The Bible says in Romans 2:11 - For God does not show favoritism.
Believe it or not, He loves everyone the same.
To answer your other question, our response to prayers depends on various factors such as faith, praying according to His will, etc.

Every situation is different My husband was a Deacon of our old church and he has had to work hard for even the simplest tasks. The more God answers your prayers the more that is required of you.
Luke 12:48 Where much is given much is required where much is required all the more of your will be asked.
I as well as my husband have learned that we should be glad God does not give us everything we ask for.
When you have to pray over and over and work hard for what you want you appreciate it more My husband and I relate to Bob, I can guarantee that God has a special place for the Bobs of this world that have to push a little harder and do a little more.
There is nothing wrong with the Bills of this world either God answers prayer but I would be willing to bet that the more God gives you the MORE he expects of you and that can be a blessing or a curse.

Well, one only need to look at the bible and what it has to say. It should be the only answer one would need.
One scripture at Acts 10:34, 35 says:
34 At this Peter opened his mouth and said: “For a certainty I perceive that God is not partial,
35 but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.
That being the case, if some prays to god in Christ Jesus name for something, so long as he asks something of god, according to his will, he will answer his prayer.
Only difference is, he might answer a prayer differently for each person because everyone is different with different personal attributes and needs etc.

No. This is a pretty vague question, but God does not play favorites. It would also greatly depend on what these men were praying for and why?
A person does not become a Christian to get prayers answered. God is not our genie in a bottle.

Not like you think, of course. God is God. Thus, God is Holy, Righteous, always just, always right in His judgments. Thus, even tho Bill and Bob might be "equal" in their relationship with God thru Jesus Christ (not possible, but I'll give you that), they would not themselves be equal in what they need to develop that relationship with Jesus Christ. No one is. Satan treats us as groups, which is why he had to invent racism and other exclusions. God treats us an individuals, and that always bugs the non-believer because he thinks everyone should be treated the same.
Personally, I don't want to be treated the same, because what I deserve is judgment. Once I have God's GRACE, tho, God determines what He gives me. I cannot demand what He gave someone else . . . I cannot demand anything.
So, does God play favorites? In a way, He treats each of His individual children as His favorite, doing what is the best thing for each one. He's God; He is able to do that.

God always answers our prayers..... Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes no and sometimes it's WAIT. I would say that what Bob is praying for is simply not in line with God's plan for his life or he is asking for things that will not be good for him or, since God can see the future, perhaps God knows that once Bob has what he's praying for he will not like it and will not be happy.

Maybe Bob is asking for a new house or a hot wife and Bill is asking for world peace. There's no favorites. God isn't like a human being. If He was, He'd have smited a few people a long time ago.

It may seem that way, but He knows what is best and may well have something better in store for Bob than what he is praying for. Perhaps he is testing Bob for strength and faith. It is easy to be faithful when every prayer is answered just as you asked. Doesn't happen that way to most of us. We tend to ask for the wrong things.

Trick question, no one is ever equal with another in a relationship; even if it is with God. Maybe Bill is getting his prayers answered because God let him get buggered by a priest when he was a little boy and Bob's parents were the perfect parents and Bob has to learn the value of work and sacrafice.
