I can feel your pain. I got my hair straightened and it damaged my hair, so I am growing it out. The new growths will just be your normal hair, and once you cut off the part that got straightened, you'll have your old hair back. The flat iron does damage your hair, too. Don't use it.

ok, hair that is chemically straightened isnt permanetly straightened forever, once it grows out, it is curly again.
flat ironing is temporary, but does far more damage. my best friend straightened her hair everyday for 2 weeks, wednesday of the next week, her hair was sooo frizzy, then she tried to put it up and it broke off! it used to be like 2 feet long, after it broke it was a little below her ears in some places.

Chemical straighteners only affect the hair it touches. Once this product is applied the hair will not revert back. As your new growth grows in it will need to be straightened to match the previously straightened hair.
As for flat ironing this is a temporary process and will revert the hair back once it absorbs moisture.

No, it does not affect the "virgin" hair that is growing in. But it does look bad in the process because (if you have curly hair) you will have straight strings of hair at the end of the new hair that is growing in and it looks like you have spider legs coming out of your head. I should know - I used to always flat iron my hair and now I look a mess! Hope my answer helps you!

It depends of what technique you use,if its cream, bionic or ionic. But remember it depends of how you take care of your hair, for example I straightened mine, some times I use blower or flat iron,if you don't want to burn your hair with the iron, you try put a white paper on it and if the paper turns to color yellow it is too hot and you can burn your hair. You have to use a good shampoo and a good conditioner also there are creams and sprays to use in your hair so when you dry it with a blower or iron it keeps silky and loose, also protect your hair from heat. There is a mark of products name ionic that are good, also pantene for straight hair and herbal therapy from L'oreal.

yes, it will affect the hair that grows out b/c the hair that was straighted will be straight and the new hair will be curly, also after the chemical wears off , you hair will be greatly damage, i should know my hair is still recovering.
