Can i carry a handgun in my car in the state of Wisconsin? If so, can I do so without a permit or do I need a permit? And how will I go about obtaining a permit?

Go to your local city hall, and ask them about a concealed weapons permit, because you need one.

If Wisconsin has a concealed carry law, call your local authorities and do whatever it takes to get a permit. Actually and in reality, you already have the right to carry a weapon, the authority being the 2nd Admendment of the U.S. Constitution. Also, under the supreme law of nature or natural law, you have the right to defend and protect yourself, which is your God given right of survival. The problem is that the agenda driven courts and judges have perverted our laws to such an extent, that what is legal in many cases has been subverted to be illegal. I reside in Kentucky, where there is a concealed carry law, and I have a permit for my S&W 40 cal. which I carry everywhere everyday. I have always had a weapon close by. In the insane, violent, nutcase society of today, one would be foolish not to carry a weapon for self defense.

For the record, Wisconsin DOES NOT have a concealed carry law. They're one of the only TWO states in the country that concealed carry is still Illegal.

The other being Illinois.

Well if you're asking I hope you're not. And you do need a permit/license to carry a concealed weapon, and hopefully you have a registered gun. You can ask anywhere that sells guns because there's customers that have to do the same thing. But the thing is I believe that it can't be loaded either.. which kinda defeats the whole purpose doesn't it....

You can carry one in your car unloaded and the ammo has to be stored in a differnt place than the handgun. You could not carry the handgun and ammo in the glovebox for instance.

ask your local law enforcement, simple phone call, and as far as the other suggestions you got in here, you be the judge, except, you would have to be a complete idiot to carry a knife or blade, that is definitely carrying a concealed weapon and just down right stupid, that's like taking a knife to a gun fight.

Captain, above, is correct. You will have to have a permit which means the police department will have to run a check on you for any outstanding warrants and they will run a criminal history check.

I think you need a "concealed" permit, and that it has to be "on your person", not in the glove-box or in the trunk. Check with your local police station.

you need a permit that is for sure, but it would be best to just carry a knife or blade with you in your car.
