Have it at home. Keep it only like 2 hours long. Have friends and family over. Do a theme they will like, something that interest them. When my daughters turned 2, they LOVED hats. So I made a cake shaped as a hat and also made cupcakes (I like to make the cake rather than buy it from the store, it is more special, my mom did this when I was growing up, she always let us kids pick out the cake we wanted and that is what we got, so I am doing that with my girls). Also at the party we had easy finger foods, a meat and cheese tray, veggie tray, a fruit salad, chips/pretzels. We also opened presents. And I got plain hats from Michaels and some fabric markers and had the kids decorate their own hat. And time in between and we just let the kids play and run around, they all had fun!

i do not imagine you opt to fuss too a lot over a 2 365 days previous's party. even with you do she will have the capacity to locate all of it extremely interesting and your significant issue is truthfully going to be preserving her calm so that's no longer tears earlier bedtime. i became in the same situation to you for my daughter's 2d party. interior the end it became usually adults, a 7 365 days previous, a 13 365 days previous and a fifteen 365 days previous. I made usually 'youthful ones party' type food - which adults secretly love - and made a cake. i did not difficulty too a lot with decorations, yet I did positioned her in a attractive party gown and blew up a dozen balloons to have around the homestead. She had the excellent time, yet she did get somewhat worried when we delivered the cake in with the candles on it and refused to devour any. at the same time as the party became over and the finest visitors had lengthy gone I helped her change into customary outfits and we had a good lengthy chat about her day earlier her customary supper, bath and mattress recurring. good success!

Depends: 1) Do you want to impress the guests, or do you want to just make sure your kid has a good time? And, 2) Is it just family, or is it the kid's friends from preschool/neighborhood?

If you want to impress and are short on ideas and short on time, head to a party store. They have reams of party supplies for wee ones, in plenty of different themes. If you want to impress and have plenty of time, search online for some fancy DIY kid birthday parties, like at, well, DIYnetwork, or Home & Garden.

If you just want your kid to have a good time, bake a cake from scratch. It won't matter what it looks like; it'll be yummy to junior. And from Mom (I'm assuming) makes it special automatically. Make a little crown from him/her to wear to know it's the kid's special day. Play some birthday music.

If you're having the kid's friends over, prepare a few activities in advance to keep them occupied. 2-year-olds are a mixed bag when it comes to separating, so encourage parents to participate. These can be making hats, or just drawing. Games, especially competitive ones, will be beyond them.

In general, though, anything you do, the kid will love it on his special day. Troubles lie in overdoing it ... overstimulation, and the subsequent letdown.

Dont have a big party at this age. Cake and ice cream and a few family and friends. He is too young and will get cranky if you have a huge party that overstimulates him, trust me I learned the hard way.No body has fun when there is a cranky toddler.
