parakeets vs. cocatoos?

if im allergic to parakeets, will i also be allergic to cocatoos?

If you are alergic to parakeets chances are you will be alergic to all birds and cats.

i'm gonna say some thing that not all and sundry's gonna like. Why does all and sundry want a fowl you will reproduce? There are way too many birds, such a number of that want residences, such a number of that are thrown out undesirable after the proprietors do away with them. this is frightening to me. i'm inquisitive approximately possessing birds, i've got owned and handfed such a number of. From parakeets, love birds, Quakers, an Alexandrine, solar Conure, Congo African gray's or maybe a scarlet Macaw. I even chanced on a startling infant and raised it. i'm inquisitive approximately possessing birds, i admire them. do not ge me incorrect! and that i understand all lady birds will lay, and that i lost a cockatiel as quickly as to binding. i'm getting it. I purely does not attempt and do something that could push them to place. yet, that's purely me. i'm not judging, i promise. purely asserting. i admire lovebirds, in my opinion. And yet another small, particularly much less high priced fowl to look at is the cockatiel. Oh, or my all time fave, in the event that they are criminal the place you reside, is a Quaker parrot. not very high priced, magnificent parrots. They communicate actual, lady and male.

Most likely. I had eleven birds at one time they are addicting. Cocatoos, cockatiels even have alot of dander on them which is what you are allergic to. I ended getting a condition called "keepers lung" which has very similar symptoms to it resembeling pneumonia. Try a conure. They are very entertaining. The Sun conures are not as loud as Nandays, but they have alot of personality. If you do end up getting a bird, remember to never feed them chocolate or avacados, both are poisonous to birds. However, feeding them just seeds is not healty either. Feed them fresh vegetables as well.

The powder from a Cockatoo would probably aggrevate your allergies more than the parakeet. Maybe a fish? I raise Large parrots and they arent for the allergic unless you want to use medications.

Probably. Cockatoos are known as "powder down" birds because they produce tremendous amounts of powder from their feathers. Picture the cage looking like it's been dusted with baby powder. If you're allergic to something as tiny as a parakeet, a cockatoo would make you miserable long before it started screaming.

There is an EXTREMELT high possibility. Cockatiels and cockatoos are the dustiest birds which leads to a high allergin count. I wouldn't push it.

If you want to find out, see if the doctor can test you, if they can't go see a 'too for a little bit if your allergy is not a deadly one. If you have a reaction, then you are allergic.

Chances are though that you will be allergic to all birds, sorry.
