As far as I know, I lack a Uterus.
But if my hypothetical wife were hypothetically pregnant, I would hypothetically abort the hypothetical baby...

I was older when I was pregnant with my youngest child. I had an amnio to make certain the child was healthy. If the child had been diagnosed with severe problems, I had already made the decision to have an abortion. Thank God, the child was.. and is.. perfect and beautiful.. Were there actually a test which could predict a sociopathic future, I think that I would consider that a very great handicap and would make the same decision. That is probably not the politically correct answer, but then we all make our own choices. I knew then, and know now, what I am financially and emotionally able to handle, so my decisions are made accordingly.

As far as I know, looking at your DNA cannot indicate whether or not your child is going to be a sociopath. They have pinpointed certain genes that indicate traits such as agression but even these only indicate that your child has the potential to be aggressive. A gene does not mean that the child will necessarily have to express a certain trait, and even if the trait is expressed, behavior can be modified with therapy. Your child is what it is, every child born has a certain number of traits that others might consider "undesirable"--a big nose, frizzy hair, a stubborn personality---these are all part of what makes each individual unique. A mother should not get to play God in making a "designer baby", by eliminating a child with one undesirable trait, your next child might have a different undesirable trait or even the same one--do you abort that child as well and try again? Genetics are all a big lottery, you get what you get, aside from a deadly disease or defect genes should not be used in a decision to abort a pregnancy because there is no guarantee that the trait will show up and even if it does show up can potentially be modified with proper treatment. I would never consider an abortion in this situation or any other.

No i will not. Not only that abortion is against all my belief it is because what you are saying is just base on a predisposing factor. If in some advancement in science would allow us to know if the child "might" become a future sociopath. Science still cant actually predict if they will become one. You are omitting the fact that we are also a product of nurture. the nature will provide us with predisposing characteristics, but the nurture would eventually make us to what we do. So if my child in the womb has a predisposing factor that might make him a future sociopath, I will give him the benefit of the doubt and raise him into a good christian. I will trust my Lord that He will guide my child to the right path and not into the path of a sociopath.

A child can not be identified as a future sociopath. But some women will use all kinds of excuses to murder their baby in cold blood before it is born. If it had a mental or physical disability I wouldn't hesitate to have an abortion.

No because maybe by the time to child grew up he or she could be cured. Besides that I don't believe in abortion unless it is in the case of rape or incest,or if the mothers life is in danger. And last but not least, tests are not always accurate. And, I am not God and do not have the right to make that choice and it would be very hard to abort a child that was wanted and planned for.

Wow! What kind of amniocentesis do they have nowadays? That's a powerful procedure if it can determine that. I have no idea what I'd do. I don't know how I could live with myself if I did kill an unborn child but, I'd feel bad if I unleashed a future serial killer on the world too. That's a toughie.

Since amnio can't identify something like that, it's a moot point. A sociopath (or at least the level it gets to) is more determined by upbringing and environment than genetics, anyway.

No.
I believe with a good upbringing and plenty of love, those with sociopathic tendencies have a fighting chance at having a "normal" life.
I don't think a sociopath is the way he is because of nature alone. I believe nurture has a lot to do with it.

I don't think our understanding of genetics at this point in time allows us to find sociopaths (only some major physical and mental disabilities).
My answer is probably not. I would simply be more kind and attentive to childhood development to make sure that kid would turn out fine.
