For years I quoted that verse to people who chose not to go to my church. Then, lately, I realized that is more brainwashing from Paul in his letters to build his Empire. Jesus never said such a thing, nor would Jesus condone such an egotistical approach in favor of church empires.

Jesus simply taught:

Harmony is harmony; disharmony is the only sin against God.
