It means that he is not ready for how serious this is getting. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it is moving very rapidly into that comfortable be together forever phase and he, like all men, probably fears that commitment. I don't know if he will always but they move much slower than we do. Or he could be burning out on you by spending too much time together and doesn't want that to happen so he wants to slow it down. That happens to them alot. Hang in there...slow it down and be patient with him... just enjoy the newness and dating..it goes away quickly enough without rushing through it. Good Luck

There's a strong possibility that he has just come to the realization that you two are not compatible to go any further. This is a perfect example of why you SHOULD HAVE gone slower to begin with. Why move into a sexual relationship, meeting family members, etc. before even knowing your boyfriend well enough to know if there is any chance for a long-term relationship? Keep your investment small. Even if he/she insists on meeting family early on, tell him/her it's too soon and that you'd rather wait a while. Especially, if it involves children. They can become attached very quickly and it wouldn't be fair to them to cut ties because of your (mutual) blunder.

It means he wants to slow down and pace himself with you. I think you might be reading too much into it. I plan on doing the same if I ever get into another relationship, to give my head time to catch up to all the various feelings that come at the beginning of a relationship. It's tough to do, go slow that is, but I think it'd pay off.

From what you are saying it seems to me that he either has a problem with commitment and he has been hurt in the past, or he is just not that into you and he is trying to let you down without hurting you men aren't always the assholes they are classified by us women to be (some men!)

I think he realised he doesn't want to go further with this relationship and he's trying to break it to you nicely, but don't jump to conclusions and go up and break up with him first.
Maybe talk to him and ask him what went wrong since you thought everything was basically PICTURE PERFECT?
Goodluck and I hope everything works out for you!

Sounds like the guy doesn't know what he wants... If you think the relationship might be worth it, then give him a little space but I wouldn't be giving him EVERYTHING..
