I was diagnosed to have H pylori. I am afraid I won't be able to kiss my loved one. Is this true? Can it be transmitted by kissing? I'm confused since some says it does and some says they haven't figured out yet how this transmit. Any answers?

Honey, do not panic, nor should you worry. The Helibactor Pylori is just a bacteria that you get from ingesting something contaminated with that bacteria. This is the bacteria responsible for duodenal ulcers and other GI illnesses. It cannot be transmitted by kissing or anything like that--you have to ingest it from food or liquid.

My father and I have had the H. pylori bacteria. We just took Cephalexin (an antibiotic), and I took Prevacid. It cleared up in a week. This is definitely nothing to worry about, sweetie!

H. Pylori can be transmitted most likely from person to person, by either the oral-oral route (through vomitus or possibly saliva) or perhaps the fecal-oral route. So kissing your loved one could transmit it to him so kiss him on the cheek instead.

I'm not totally sure on this question but go to Australia and try to find a website for Dr. Barry Marshall who invented the cure for this rotten miserable bacteria problem!! I have a feeling that it may be transmitted through kissing but go to the above site to make sure. If it is, it's not as bad as catching something like an STD that really makes a lot of people depressed who catch these diseases because STDs are not only physically damaging but pshysiologically damaging too because of all the word of mouth that gets out if someone finds out that you have some kind of STD (I should say that at least I have never had to deal with any STDs but I sure have experienced a lot of other rotten things in my life like bankruptcy due to corruption due to rotten things like corruption and computer hacking!!).

No, it is not transmissible through kissing. Your doctor told you that when he or she gave you the prescription for the antibiotics that will cure it. Why didn't you listen?
