Uh.. I know this is going to sound interesting, but... if a guy is getting a tattoo on his.. uh.. yeah.. do they do it when he is hard or soft? I mean if its soft it will stretch when it gets hard, but when its hard it would shrivel, and it would be extremely difficult to stay hard during the process. I know this is way out there, but I was just wondering. I know when they get it pierced it has to be hard. Thanks for any help!

One of my guy friend, sadly, has had his penis peirced as well as tattooed. They have to be hard to have both of them done.

I have Phil Ochs tattooed on my arm (people singer) I even have "Never Die" and a rose tattooed throughout my ft, with a tigerbat above the ft on my left foot for Tiger Army. I see me getting a pair extra musician tattoos. I have an Ochs lyric tattoed around the again of my neck (Sacred are the scars) and an Op Ivy lyric around the insides of each palms (It's lovely I could say... I don't have it every other method.) I'm considering a scorching-rod tradition tat, skulls and roses and a banner, gotta prefer the lyric to head within the banner despite the fact that. As it stands at present, I'd normally decide on "In demise as in lifestyles, I will come up" or "My judgment of right and wrong contains the burden of blood."

This is from an article on about.com:

I am thinking about getting a tattoo on my penis. Do I have to be erect for them to do this?
My friend (tattoo artist and piercer) Gerry answers this one with, "[It] does not have to be hard (erect). However, it does need to be stretched taut; the method being left to the imagination." So, what he means is that the artist, who will no doubt (and had better be) experienced in this kind of tattoo will do whatever is necessary to keep the skin tight for a good, clean tattoo. It is not necessary for you to do, or worry about, anything.

I would think it would have to be hard. Either that or it would have to be pulled tight. I know that when you get a tat any where the artist will sort of stretch the skin so that the skin will take the tat better. I know that some guys (who like pain) can stay hard for the entire tat.

I have wondered this myself, great question. Would like to see an answer from a guy that has this kind of tatt. I cant imagine the artist trying to do it while soft.

He wants to get a tattoo THERE? Why? What for?
I imagine he'd need a hard-on, but is he going to be able to maintain it while getting tattooed?

It is easier to do when it is hard, this is probably why not everyone will do them and why a tattoo artist will charge major cash to do it. I wouldn't want some strangers penis in my hands, would you?????
