what is the difference between an high-cut and a low-cut bedknife...its going on a fairway unit(jacobsen lf-3800)

Lowcut (standard) bedknives are for greens, not fairways, as are highcut bedknives. The difference between the two is about a millimeter in blade thickness.
A fairway unit will usually just be equiped with a fairway bedknife.
