My boyfriend was born Ivan Bolanos in Colombia, I believe the city was named Cunndeimarca (sp?). His mother would be between the ages of 49-51 by now I think. How can I find her in Columbia- it breaks my hear that he wants to know that missing part of himself so badly and can't. Thanks!

Because this was an international adoption, the search is going to be tougher for him. But don't give up, no matter how many brick walls you two hit.

The first start would be the International Soundex Reunion Registry at this link here:

http://www.isrr.net/

Second, I'd try the international reunion board at adoption.com. Someone there can probably point you:

http://forums.adoption.com/general-international-search-reunion/

Also, backtracking with how the adoption took place. Keep a search diary and answer the following questions:

1.) How did the adoption take place? Was it through an agency? Contact them and see what their policy is on releasing information.

2.) What state was the adoption finalized in? Backtrack there as well with the county court

3.) How much information do his adoptive parents have on his first parents? Are they willing to help?

Good luck!
